Those of us hoping for a hybrid version of the Honda Fit in the US can move to Europe, since it's not coming here. But if you want something better, Honda has unveiled the Fit EV Concept, which previews the production version coming in 2012.
The concept that was shown at the LA Auto Show doesn't look much different from the gas powered version except for a slightly revised front and rear fascias. When the Fit EV is released in 2012 it will be powered by a lithium-ion battery and coaxial electric motor. The high-density motor is derived from the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle. The Fit EV will have a top speed of 90 mph and be able to drive up to 100 miles on a single charge.
