Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am has been given its track baptism at the Fiorano circuit. The car has been developed in conjunction with Michelotto Automobili, based on the GT3 version of the V8 Ferrari berlinetta, with the aim of racing in the famous North American series.

The 458 Grand Am is built to match the American regulations and is therefore different to the European car, especially in that it develops 500 horsepower and has less efficient aerodynamics than the GT version. It is also fitted with a 48 mm restrictor and maximum revs are 8000. Significant modifications have been made to the braking system, as the car has neither ABS nor traction control.

Other differences to the GT3 include the roll-over bar which gives greater lateral protection to increase safety in a series in which collisions are rather more frequent. The car is fitted with tyres from Continental, the sole supplier to the series, featuring a very hard compound, again to conform to the series regulations.
On its shakedown, The 458 Italian Grand Am completed a good number of trouble-free laps, 45 to be precise in the hands of Maurizio Mediani and Jaime Melo, as they took turns at the wheel.

A European extravagasm like the Geneva Motor Show always holds its share of oddities, be they electric beach buggies or luxury cars swathed in Pepto Bismol. They don't usually come from a company like Ferrari, but this year the Maranello automaker joined the off-beat path with the new FF. It's a pure Ferrari thoroughbred, but its shape is vastly different from anything we've seen from the brand thus far.

The Ferrari Four is a four-wheel-drive, four-seat shooting brake that claims new territory for the Prancing Horse marque. Up until now, we've seen it in red and in beige (and from limited angles), but the good folks at Pininfarina also displayed one in white, which we've captured from every angle for your viewing pleasure. We'll tell you this much: it doesn't look any less odd in person, but to re

Novitec have three world premieres at this years Geneva Auto Salon. The Novitec Race 606 is based on the Ferrari California. It's an updated package to the California presented at last years show. The most noticeable difference is the two-tone design, which has been extended on this car to cover the roof and include more bare carbon fiber. Other than that, the tuning package remains the same; power output is increased from the standard 460hp to 606hp at 7900rpm and peak torque jumps from 485Nm to 603Nm at 5500rpm. The front and rear spoilers together with the rear diffuser create an optimal aerodynamic balance. Rocker panel blades, side air outlets in the front fenders, mirror covers and the rear molding are changed as well. Also made entirely from carbon fibers is the hood centerpiece, the radiator grille, the outer skin of the folding hardtop and the taillight surrounds.

Mansory is a well-known high-luxury Tuning company that is notorious for making crazy and often tasteless transformations (at least, that's the general opinion that prevails). The new Maserati Grancabrio Sport debuts at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. The new car will offer more driving enjoyment thanks to an improved overall vehicle dynamics, more horse power, a more responsive and efficient engine and optimized gearshift response. The GranCabrio Sport uses a more powerful and fuel-efficient version of Maserati's all-alloy 4.7-litre V8. This configuration produces 331 kW (450 horsepower) and has 510Nm at the peak of its rich, thick torque curve. Maserati's Friction Reduction Program has made the GranCabrio Sport's engine more reactive to the driver's most-nuanced inputs thanks to a revision of the oil sump's fluid dynamics and the Diamond-Like Coating of the tappets and the camshaft lobes, while achieving a further 6% reduction in fuel consumption. The top speed of the GranCabrio Sport is 285 km/h and the 0-100 km/h sprint is now reduced to 5.2s.
