2012 Mazda3 Debuted At New York Motor Show with new SKYACTIVE Engine Technology

Mazda debut Mazda3 today at 2011 New York Motor Show. They expand SkyActive Engine technology with Mazda3 model with revised look and will be available in both hatchback and sedan versions.
The new 2012 Mazda3 SkyActive Engine will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. The SkyActive 2.0-liter four-cylinder produces 155 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque, compared to 148 hp and 135 lb-ft of the current MZR 2.0-liter engine found on the 2010 Mazda3. The engine is mated to a standard SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual transmission or optional SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. 

The 2012 Mazda3 sedan can get an EPA rating of 40 mpg on the highway, which is approximately 21-percent improvement over the current MZR 2.0-liter engine and while city driving fuel economy is rated at 28 mpg.

Mazda3 also available with Mazda MZR 2.5-liter engine. It is a high-performance engine which features an aluminum block and forged-steel crankshaft for high revs. The Mazda MZR 2.5-liter engine produces 167 hp at 6,000 rpm and 168 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm.
The revised 2012 Mazda3 is a bit more aerodynamic than the current model; it is cleaner and bolder looking that shows through the new five-point grille opening, restyled front bumper and rear bumper.
All SKYACTIVE models, the 2012 Mazda3 also features a few aerodynamic modifications in addition such as larger underbody covers and increased rigidity of the front tire deflectors.
